Social media advertising has become a powerful tool in the online media space. According to media agency GroupM, ad spending in India will grow 15.5% in 2016 to Rs.57,486 crore with digital advertising expanding at the fastest pace of 47.5%. Digital advertising will account for 12.7% of all ad spending in 2016, up from 9.9% in 2015! It’s incredible to observe how digital advertising has become a core part of social media marketing. Digital advertising spends are increasing due to the increasing budgets to engage customers through digital medium.
Social networks are a good option for advertisers because of the advanced targeting options, reliable conversion tracking and prevalence on mobile devices.
That said, one needs to understand when is social media advertising most useful. It’s important to have a dedicated budget, a clear goal and target audience in mind to run a successful social media advertising campaign.

If you are looking to build a brand and expand audience reach, social media advertising is an integral medium to do so. However, we can’t expect miracles with just paid advertising unless quality content is also shared to make an advertisement effective.

Creating an effective ad DOESN’T mean that you need to put more money behind it.
Instead, you need to keep testing & tweaking the ad for best results. One should keep in mind that people are evolving too quick and their behavior/preferences are changing at a fast pace. Understand what your audience is looking for and how their preference/interest level is changing…so the advert can be tweaked and targeted to the right audience
Set a realistic advertising budget and work your way around within that budget to create an effective ad
While looking to set an advertising budget, always run a test campaign for a week-10 days to understand the targeting options (demographics/geographic/type of audience/Interests etc.) that work the best for your brand. Once, you are able to understand the pulse of your audience which can help drive more engagement and conversations with minimum CPA, you will be in a better position to chalk out a realistic advertising budget with an expected outcome.
